The Ovi Tracker

The Ovi Tracker is a simple projection system that that attempts to go beyond simple pace to attempt to determine how many goals Alex Ovechkin will score in the current season. It combines recent shot rates, medium term time on ice averages and long term shooting percentages in 10 different even strength and power play situations. In addition to those factors, the Ovi Tracker combines those same statistics with their current season analogs on a weighted basis. Lastly, this projection takes into account shot location from 23 different zones on the ice.
